He is funny, silly at times. not really into serious conversations. he's family oriented, wants to have kids and a house and a boat and a 3 bay garrage. he's a good and hard worker. He's not book smart, but knows about life. He likes to take me out, to a movie, or a nice dinner. he spends a lot of money, too much for my standards. he's good with kids and my parents like him. He used to be a bad boy, but calmed down a lot. He likes fast cars, ice hockey, Futurama and Mountain Dew. He doesn't eat healthy. He likes to be held in his sleep. He takes very good care of me. He supports me in my career, and wants me to get a good job. He's lazy at times, and watches too much TV. but he fulfills his duties and helps out around the house. He says he loves me every day. And I love him.

Is he a keeper?

the reason I ask this is not because I am not sure if I want to keep him or not (after all, we've been together for more than 5 years now), but because he is the only boyfriend I ever had. so I really have no comparison. thank you :-)

okay sweetie, first of all money is a big issue in a relationship because of the fact that when you found a relationship with another person, your money are one in the same. So, do you mean he spends too much money that he simply doesnt have that would possibly create debt for the both of you? Or do you just not like people spend obsurd amounts of money on you? Even funny men have serious sides, and when it comes to love honey, it seems he knows what he wants. He wants you, needs you and you feel the same. I think its so cute that he likes to be held in his sleep. He likes to know that your there and that you arent going to be gone in the morning, thats a very special thing. You know what he likes obviously so you know him well enough to be in love. You adore him in writing this, we can all see. If you can see yourself in a relationship with him in the future, go for it. The future begins now.

Sounds like you are wondering if he's mature enough to handle a life-time commitment. It also sounds like you are not happy with some of his habits.

No of us will ever be 100% perfect, and you will not be able to change the things you don't like about him. He may want to change for you, but take it from me, a realtionship cannot survive if you are always pressuring him to change.

You have to decide if his GOOD points are worth putting up with his BAD points. And I'm sure there are probably some things about you that he doesn't like. Even though he may not admit to them right now because he sounds a little insecure.

If you decide he's worth it, then go for it. But understand this: a relationship is a long series of compromises. Love can only get you so far. If you decide he's the one, then acceptance will take you the rest of the way. Good Luck!

The only real warning signal I see there is his spending habits. Quite a lot of divorces are caused by financial difficulties and disagreements over handling money. Make sure he is willing to compromise on this issue and be more responsible. Otherwise, he sounds fairly delightful, and if you're happy, go for it!

I would say so if you were my daughter. Watch out for the TV watching...that could get on your nerves in a few years. I think you know he's a keeper...you love him, he's good to you and he loves you.

the questions you have to ask yourself- Are you happy? Do YOU love him?
no one can tell you if he is a keeper or not. that is something YOU have to know in your heart.
If he is what you say he is, and you make him sound pretty darn swell.... then i would keep him if he was mine.

He's a keeper if you can keep him alive by serving him healthy food.
