There's no St. George's or St. David's Day either. Of course, this site caters largely to Americans. But is it really that important? I'm English (I do apologise for my nationality and also for how we stole all the oil and oppressed you) but I can't say Yahoo Answers not having St. George's day will keep me up at night. Why does it bother you?

St Patricks day is not American... It's Irish! And it is a national holiday in Ireland, where we celebrate the Patriot Saints achievements. It is a big thing i America as it is all over the world as there are so many of us Irish about.
Yeah I think you should celebrate your patriot saint, it would be a nice day off for me, But the fact is most English People don't register St Georges day, I have mentioned it in previous years and my English work mates have gone is it?? So yeah start small in your area and celebrate St Andrews this week in style, I shall do something at college.

There isn't a St Davids or St Georges day either. The reason for this is that St Patricks Day is so commercialised now, would you want that to happen to your countrys special day?
