No, Every situation you go thru in life is for a reason...hard times only make you stronger, empower you to be better and learn how to cope and help others in the same situation.

People think there is a pill for everything. Lets deal with our emotions people and stop medicating for emotional needs.

There need to be a distinction between memories that torture you and memories of unpleasant or even tragic events that still taught you a valuable lesson. While I would definitely take a pill to erase the memory of a rape or a similar kind of event I had no control over, I would not recommend erasing the memory of a bad breakup or getting fired from your job. Some of our failures are there to teach us about life. With that in mind, I would definitely take a pill to erase my paying 8 bucks to see "Anaconda" That memory is too painful to bear.

I've been thinking about that since last night's 60 Minutes. I related to the analogy "Would you be anasthitized before surgery, or would you want to endure it as a life event?" Mental health is every bit as important as physical health and if a painful memory can be taken away with a pill, why not. So, to answer, yes I would.

anything which is unnaturally induced will never provide any desired results, will add to further miseries only. If memories are erased or to be lessened as we desire then the Nature itself would not have granted the said qualilty to the human beings.

Actually, I don't think I would. Because the bad memories that I have in my life have really helped me in becoming a better person. Even though they were painful at the time, it really helped me grow as an individual. Like the famous saying goes, "That which cannot destroy me, can only make me stronger."

No, I guess not cause every bad or good experiences is a way of learning how to live life... so maybe if you could erase that you couldn´t be the person you are now

I don't think I will. Doing so would be escapism. One can always find a positive side to all those bad memories. Bad memories can actually act as your 'Early Warning Defense System'.

Experiences whether good or bad are meant to teach us something...good or bad!
It is upto the individual to learn something positive from a negative experience, if you take a pill to erase these experiences, how do you expect to grow.
Personally i wouldn't take the pill!

Only to erase bad memories - Yes, of course.

definitely not because these memories force us to evaluate the universe we live in. as long as we are honest, and actually deal with our problems, we are in truth and free from suffering. nothing in the physical world will ever solve the problem of human despair; it's an existential problem and has to be dealt with through spiritual endeavors.
