I will have the polyp removed soon. I have been trying to get pregnant for 2 years. I finally went to the doctor and she saw this polyp on my cervix protruding from the opening of the cervix. I beleive it has been growing for about 3 and half years because that is when I noticed the symptoms. My doctor said it must have been there a while based on the size of it. I'm just curious if this can block the sperm from entering the cervix. My doctor said she has seen women get pregnant with cervical polyps.

Yes, you can still get pregnant. The problem is to make sure that it doesn't turn into a cancerous cell because then they will do a hysterectomy and ruin any chance of conceiving a child. Some doctors give medicine to neutralize and shrink the polyp...just talk to your doctor.

Why did it take 3-1/2 years to notice it...It should have been noticed at your yearly pap tests. Getting pregnant should be no problem...I doubt the polyp stops sperm from getting in

Only your doctor knows your particular situation completely, you should ask her.
