I don't think money can buy you happiness, but it can give you peace of mind, regarding bills, and being able to buy what you need.
As long a you are a good person to start, this will not change you, I would make you a better person, because if it was me, I would be able to help the people that need money for food shelter, and so forth.
I like to help people, so I would first do for my family, save money, put it in the bank. Then I would help those that are less fortunate. As long as you spread your wealth, you will never go wrong. When the trouble start is when you become a person that thinks that you are better than others for the money you have.
I hope you win the lottery, that way you will be able to at least relax on your bills, and you sound to have a good heart, so I think you will the one to help others.
Good luck, play the lottery, if you don't play at least 1.00 you will never know.

CBecko, I think you are right in the sense that you will be relieved from the stress of not having the financial security one would like in life. This makes you happy!
Let's face it, people - money can buy happiness. The real question is how long will that happiness last? When we have money to do the things we want, let's be real - we are happy. When we are stressed, we're upset and the happy joy-joy feelings just can't penetrate it because we want to resolve that unhappy feeling surrounding financial worry.
When you're shopping and giving your money to the big corporations, you're as excited about it as a pig in slop. When you have paid all your bills for the month and have money left over, you are happy.
No, money will not solve all of our problems, but the happy bug will bite us so big, we'll be singing!
Now...let's say you win the lottery and you are so happy that you just buy this or that until your heart is content. Many people have done this and found that the funds seemed to have disappeared. They were ecstatic when they learned they had won and were dancing in the streets as they spent that money. Once they were overcome with fulfilling their dreams, some found they were back in the same "poor pot" they'd been in before their winnings. So, the happiness was there...but it only lasted as long as their money did.
Why is that? Because that's where they put their joy-joy feelings into. If we learn to deal with the stress of financial worry (i.e., manage our money better), we will soon put our happiness in other more valuable places and money will not be such a hot commodity for us.
Living a simple life with the one you love, in peace, will be enough.

The definitive answer is NO!. A happy person focuses on the best way to make any situation better. Examine how you are thinking. Waiting for a lottery prize is negative, everyday another disappointment. When you are not open to positive opportunities, you won't recognize them, when they present themselves. Happy people attract other happy people and that is a progression that presents opportunity. If you really want to be fulfilled with life, Help others less fortunate and you will be rich beyond your dreams.

happiness comes from within yourself.
i understand being under stress because of debt, i have debt myself but im still happy with my life, my family and i love helping people in need. i always help this family i know, they are hard workers but they are poor, i always see what i have around me and im thankfull for that. i dont need more to feel happy.
just think about how many people all over the world, dont have a house, clothes, food or even education. the children instead of going to school go to work. for christmas, they dont get toys, they have to work and they are lucky if they get something to eat that day.
this are the things i think about when im really stress about our debt and i wish i could win the lotto too to pay everything off and probably help more people, but then what happens after that?
if you dont find the happiness within yourself, i dont think the lotto will either, besides its only a momentary feeling that eventually will go away.
good luck with your debt, i hope you win that lotto!!!

It will ease your mind of getting everything paid that's need to get paid, but essentially, no. You can buy all lot of things or go to expensive places with it, but eventually the stuff you buy will lose it's luster with time. Overall, money is just the end justifies the means.
