Is it best to move on, move up or get down!

Have you been there? do you erase the memory of those who hurt you or wait until you can forgive and make it up to them? Or are you in a cult that removes you from your nearest and dearest?

So many levels to this film...3rd party manipulation, abuse in the work place, corrupt use of client info, Cult isolation...you name it, it's here in the film.

Which bit spoke to you?

My husband and I cried together and held each other really tight after watching this film.

I think the most telling thing in this movie is the last line.
Kate Winslet says "OK." They agree to date all over again & give it another try, even though they know they will have problem & it's probably not going to work out.
So many underlying themes about love can be told by that last line! To name just a few -
1) When it comes to love, people are willing to make the same mistakes over & over again.
2) Matters of the heart have no memory.
3) You can't help who you fall in love with.
This movie is wonderful!

I loved the element of 'those who forget their past are doomed to repeat it'. As much as we would like to forget the bad times, they make the good times so much better.

Interesting that there was a story on 60 Minutes last night about a pill that helps people 'forget' painful memories. All I could think of during the story was Eternal Sunshine.

I loved this movie. It's creative, well-written, and the acting is good, too.

I can relate to the desire to avoid the pain of a "bad" relationship, but that will rob us of being fully alive. My favorite moment in the film is at the end when Kate Winslet's character tells Jim Carrey's character all the reasons their relationship won't work, and he just says, "ok." His acceptance of the difficulties is so awesome (and pretty rare, too!)

I have known victims of memory erasing. I for one prefer to retain all of my memories whether they are pleasant or not. We continue to learn and grow from our life experiences so this makes our memory very valuable.
