Transvestites haven't had sex change operations. Transvestites just have a fettish or desire to dress in the opposite genders' clothing. Most of the time, they don't want the operation...but living as the opposite gender is the first step of many towards an operation. All transvestites still have their jollies attached.

Transsexual people have sex change operations. After that, they are legally the gender their operation assigns. It depends on the talent of the surgeons on duty and how well everything heals (in leau of infection or insain amount of scar tissue) as to how much feeling is had. Some surgeries go downright aweful and the person is horribly mutilated...others go great and there is no complication...it depends.

Transvestites dress in clothing typically worn by the opposite gender. You're thinking of transsexuals (which is a super ugly word, but technically what you mean). It's called gender reassignment surgery. If the operation(s) is done properly, then yes, absolutely, sexual sensation will be present. That area is a complicated network of nerves, so unfortunately some walk away from surgery without the sensation they desire. Yahoo search for mtf (male to female) surgery, gender reassignment, and check out wikipedia.org for more details. Many people who have undergone the transformation - which takes multiple surgeries over a period of years, plus other commitments and effort - document their transition in a blog. Same for ftm.

Yes, MtF transsexuals will generally have very good sensation after a vaginoplasty. The reason for this: the skin and nerves of the penis are used to construct the vagina.

Many can have very satisfying orgasms from penetration because of this.

A good source of information on the sensation are the books by Kate Bornstein.

FtMs, on the other hand, often do not have any genital reconstruction. But that's another question. :-)

actually, transvestitism is just cross dressing, maybe some of them have a sex change, but then they arent transvestites anymore, would they be? I guess if they did have an operation, it would depend on how good a surgeon they got, im sure there are ways of leaving some nerve endings intact.

I would think yes because if not then there would be no point in the sexual act. They cannot make a man have a period or anything like that though.

Yes, I've heard transexuals do. They use the tip of the penis to create a clitoris or something. HTH : )
