especially when OUR schools, hospitals, roads, police, prisons

i completely agree. they waste our money and then put taxes up. i can't Waite till Blair resigns and i hope he takes brown with him.
if people want to give to charitie it's there choice. when the money goes to africa the president takes it any way

I totally agree. Although I think that the suffering some people in this world go through is terrible, at the end of the day I think OUR money should go towards inproving OUR services first, then we can help others.
I don't subscribe to this idea that we colonised them so now its 'pay back' time. I prefer to live in the present, not the past.

At least we have schools. hospitals, roads, prisons etc and drinking water and cholera free drains and malaria free countryside.etc etc. Don't we all deserve such things?

I don't want my taxes going abroad either. I'm not against sending money to help other countries but I would like to choose those countries. When governments export taxes it removes that choice
