The reason a teenager may say that could stem from a multitude of things. They could be getting bullied regularly, feel like an unwanted social outcast, feel intelectually incapable or not challenged enough, or they could just flat out be bored and would rather just have fun.

That mindset is too hasty and drastic. High School, education moreover, plays a great part in an individual's future.

But I think those teens might have their reasons for saying this statement other than they don't like studying. Maybe they were experiencing bullying or racial hatred or something similar.

It seems a bit extreme. I hated highschool too, but that only lasts four years, eventually it's over.

I know some people have it really hard in highschool. I would recommend changing schools. I know we're supposed to stand up to bullies and it makes you stronger if you do...(That's what I did anyway) but at the same time, if you are so unhappy that suicide seems like an option, you should talk to any adult you are comfortable with and consider changing schools. Sometimes it takes more courage to walk away than it does to stay and fight

it is because yeens are mean and judge you by your looks not for who you are. At that age it is hardest when you get picked on for you can not change schools and classes like adults can change jobs or move to another house or apartment.
