I try to though i've forgotten once or twice. Do you think it's rude when you give a good answer and don't even get a thumbs up from the asker?

I ALWAYS give a Thumbs up to ANY answer that makes me laugh. Even if it doesn't pertain to the question. I LOVE a sense of humor!!! I give thumbs up to answers I think are good, and if I agree with them. I give best answer to whoever helped me the most and if no one did....whoever made me laugh the hardest. Still - if I didn't like any answers, I let the community vote for the best answer.

I've only asked two questions, one time I remembered, the other time, I didn't. I think its nice to get a best answer but I understand if I don't and I know that not everyone shares the same opinion as I do, so its ok if I don't get a thumbs up too.

When there is more than one good answer, I give Best Answer to the one that is the MOST clear and concise. Then, I send an e-mail, if they allow it, to all the others that had good answers to say thank you for your answer. Also, I give a thumbs-up to all good answers. So, in turn, you'll either get a thumbs-up or an e-mail, or BOTH!

I think I've always picked a best answer. Yes, I think if someone has gone to the trouble of giving you a good answer they should at least get some kind of response.

not when there are more good answers for the same questions. Then I usually pick a chick to narrow it down easier. Sounds sexists but that's the way I work.

I hate it when you are like the 50th person to answer and the person who answers the question dosesn't get to yours and then chooses a best answer, you know, what if what I had to say was the best answer possible and you never even read it?? It makes me cry inside..!lol..!

I find that the "best" answer is ofter what the asker wanted to hear!

For myself, I would award a best answer if an answer was half-decent, but not if none of them passed a barrier. I would also attempt to quell my ego when rating and awarding answers. It's easy to rate those who speak in tones of honey.

I usually give a thumbs up to good answers. Similarly, I chose the best answers also.

You win some, you loose some. Ratings don't really bother me. ((I saw one question that had a rating of +683!))

Anyway, I do choose all my best answers. Love asking questions in here so I can vote for people's opnonns. Ive chosen stupid answers twice.

One of my questions was "What should happen to people who dont listen to their parents" (meant kids), and one guy said, "They should be shot at dawn." I laughed at that one.
