I do because many people I know with learning disabilities have trouble passing and I tend to believe they must not be able to. There is nothing wrong with that in my opinion, as they can get into some vocational training.

I disagree. High school isn't training you for a job - it's where you learn the basics to be able to function in modern society, and where you learn enough to go on to higher education. Whether you do go on is up to you. But without at least a high school education, you will have enormous problems getting ANY kind of job that requires any skill beyond being able to wear a paper hat. Look around - try to find any decent job that doesn't require some advanced training. Also, put yourself in the position of the person that hires someone for that job. Would you want someone who has the tenacity to stick it out when the going gets tough, or would you settle for someone who cuts and runs when they hit a little trouble? That's what it sounds like you're doing here with high school - it got a little hard, and you don't want to work at it to finish it. You want to take the easy way out. Don't do that - you'll be shooting yourself in the foot.

Stick it out. You'll figure out that it's worth it.

I agree with you that it's defiantly harder for some people to get by in high school. I can sympathize with those that have learning disabilities because I have dyslexia and that's considered a learning disability, so I struggled in school. I wasn't even diagnosed with it until my junior year. But it's not a reason to give up. I know to some people, maybe even the majority of high school students, that high school may seem like the hardest thing you'll ever face, but it's not. Life is going to get a whole lot harder when you get out in the world on your own! So I believe you should stick with it and do the best you can. I'm 33 now and have children of my own, and I would just not be ok with them deciding to drop out of school. I want them to have options and I think a high school diploma is very important. I'm not putting anyone down who has decided to go with a GED instead, because I know sometimes people have to drop out of school for reasons beyond their control. But dropping out simply because it's too hard, I just don't agree with it.

While I agree that persons should try and obtain higher education, there are thousands who will not achieve even a High School Diploma.

The reason being they do not have the mental capacity to do so. and others have found employment which does not require a High School Diploma.

There is nothing wrong with these choices, but in this world of so much competition, it might be difficult some times for people of limited education to survive.

No, first of all the saying is "college isn't for everyone" which I can agree with. High School on the other hand, everyone should be able to pass. Now as far as kids with learning disabilities, schools are required to have classes for them, so they should be able to make it through. As far as those people who are too disabled for those classes, there is training for them.

I was going to disagree with you, but your explanation makes sense. The middle ground may include vocational training (as you said), but there are also non-traditional high schools that deserve a closer look.

However, in general, college is necessary for a good job that pays well. Formerly, a high school degree was all that was necessary to get a good job. Not anymore. College is the new high school. High school is therefore necessary for everyone.

Yes and No because there are some people who are lazy but can do the wrok and pass with high marks and there are others who just don't learn like everyone else and can't pass the classes.

I think high school is not meant for everyone, but if u dont have the possibilities, as long as u hav gone through Middle School and Primary School, high school is not indispensable.
Many people didn't even go to middle school, and now they are successful millionaires

I do not agree. Nowadays, there are so many programs to assist anyone with disability. There is so much help out there. I think education is very important and you must to all to do your best at it. That is my opinion.
