He's really fat and will sink the team whenever he walks onto the ice. Bluejackets suck anyway whoever would cheer for them must be an idiot. Columbus shouldn't have an NHL team.

In Hitch's home town they call him the Legend. Here is a guy that never played - coaching. Imagine that for a minute - never played but has won at every single level he has coached - right up to the highest level in the world! Hitch lost his parents at a young age - hockey has been his life. He's tough in that he damands accountability from his players - to themselves and their team mates. When Wayne Gretzky put together the Canadian Olympic program he could have had any coach he wanted - and the Great One added Hitch. When Cananda won the gold it wasn't because they played a defensive game. He will find ways to win, he is part psychologist, part wizard, and a master technician. He is one of a kind.

actually hitchcock isnt a real disciplinarian. hes a good coach though, and he will start out with Defense. the only thing is this blue jackets team isnt built like the big teams in the east he has been coaching the last couple of years. even when he was in dallas he stressed a physical game... i dont think columbus can do that with the squad they have. they have lots of talent though so im sure he can turn things for the better.

Hitch is cool (so far). It's going to be a long trek for the Jackets. But they've got loyal fans who will stick by them. I hope that everything works out for Hitch. Now if we can just do something about getting rid of MacLean!- BTW (to the doubters) they might not be the best team in the league...but they've got a hell of a loyal following and Columbus DESERVES a NHL team. I'm glad we've got them.....Have you heard the Jackets Hockey Holidays cd yet? It's HILARIOUS!!!!

Hitch is a great coach. Very disciplined, and with Columbus playing very inconsistantly his discipline will turn things around. Hitch wasnt the problem in Philly, it was the upper management and Esche.

Hitch won a Stanley Cup, but that was under the old clutch-and-grab rules. He looked out of his element after the rule changes when he coached my Flyers. His disciplinarian style will grate on players after a few years.

You are a little far from the playoffs yet, but it is a major step forward. He is a good coach and though things did not work out in PHILLY, theyll get better.

Ken Hitchcock, dude if your doubting him already that sucks cause he is a great coach, even Rick Nash said the first day of him being with the team they already feel like a better team

He must be a good coach but his abrasive style rubs many players the wrong way and they don't respond that well to him after a few seasons.

That is true if you look at his record.

i think that hitch cannot coach effectively in the league anymore. his style is all defense. i don't think he knows the n.h.l actually changed some of the rules in order to benefit offensively creative, fast skating teams. you can't win games if you don't score.
