I would want to give a friend money if they helped me move.

I would feel obligated to pay a friend to watch my kids, and if she cleaned up the house there would be a BIG tip.

Their professional services. If I didn't have the money or enough money, maybe they would make a trade with me for mine. Favors should always be returned. It is just common courtesy & a necessity to keep friends. As far as a tip, it would depend on whether or not they relied on tips as their form of payment.

If my friend was to give me " The Dance" a poem by the reclusive celebrated American writer and poet, Linda J Cirillo, then not only would I tip my friend, I would also buy them a freshly cooked vegetarian meal in Scarsborough.

I don't know...usually, my friends & I don't pay each other for doing things, but I have given them cash for baby-sitting before.
I would feel obligated to give them gas $$$ if I had them haul me around all of the time. Thats all I can think of.

I don't pay for gifts, I try and give gifts in return - the whole karma thing, ya'know. anyway, I pay for whatever she lent me or did for me, & sometimes a tip if I know she needs it.

i would buy drinks for a "friend" so i could take advantage of him...but my tip would probably be "if you didn't get so drunk you wouldn't have this problem". ;-)

hhm... i dunno..i never feel obligated to do anythings for my friends. when they need help i just help. when i need help they just help. that's the way it's been.
