Aww a baby Sulcata, i love them!!

I have a Hermanns hatchling, im not too sure about sulcata's but im sure there not too different in what climates they are used to.

I have went for a UVB bulb form the following website
http://www.thetortoiseshop.com

Basically thats all what is needed, and obviously a ceremic heatmat underneath the bulb. I know that some people do have strip lighting as well as a UVB bulb but that is not vital. The light im currently using has everything needed in the subject of lighting. Also just pointing out a tank is not the best housing for a tortoise, a table top/ open top small pen is best. Too much condensation can build up in a tank and the humidity can be too high!

But Good Luck, hope you and your tort do well xx

Whilt your here, come visit the FAB online forum
http://www.turtleexchange.com/forum

-Whilt there you can also find caresheets in the TORTOISE section, and any questions needed you can ask as there are loads of memebers online ready too help, why not try posting your question on there!

Thanks

Cameron xx

No matter what bulb you get, the most important thing to this guy is going to be proper vitamin supplementation with calcium and vitamin D3 (which is what the bulb for). Just like us, reptiles use sunlight to metabolize calcium. Repcal is probably the most common supplement. I use Herpvite also for the rest of the vitamins.
