I watch the news, don't read the newspapers and have my eyes and ears wide open. How can you make a difference to the world or what goes on around you cocooned in a ball of cottonwool. I like knowing whats cooking and try my best to make the area we live in a better place. Every paper or plastic bottle you pick up makes a difference. I am not a goodie two-shoes ok:)

i'd choose the second option- as you just said, i'd rather have all the facts and knowledge being presented to me, so i can analyse each one and take the next step afterwards. that way, by learning and instilling that information and knowledge i would be more aware, knowledgable and less ignorant of other people and the things going on. being open-minded and not be so ignorant as well as see things from one aspect or perspective only means you are engaging in and taking in different views, opinions avaliable to you and for you to eventually make the right choices and decisions, based on the info being given to you.

no i find it invigorating to know what is going on in the world at all times and from anywhere good or bad news unfortunately the latter is soaked up by the media to promote sales but you have to sort the wheat from the chaff when your reading or looking at TV but you cannot close your eyes to daily events from around the globe because high tech has placed it on your doorstep

If that means I could drink as much as I want, eat as much as want and basically do anything I want to anything and anyone without even the slightest bit of guilt then I would definitely go for pure ignorance.
Guilt really inhibits my life.

Ignorance is bliss (or would be I'm sure).
In my limited capacity in the latter camp: those who don't help others resent it that you do, and those that need help resent it that they required you to give it after you have done so.
