I have been having a problem with feeling like I can't keep my eyes open. I just feel like I want to sleep all the time. I have absolutely no energy, to do anything. And I am always in a bad mood and biting everyones head off. I sometimes feel like I could explode. I have come to the conculsion that this happens alot more about 1 week to 1 1/2 weeks prior to my period, and every month it seems to be getting worse.

this sounds very much like depression. One of the symptoms is sleeping too much or too little. I doubt that it is related to your period, but there may be an element of PMS involved. The fatigue could be a sign of either diabetes mellitus or low thyroid function - both of which can be checked easily by your doctor.

Good luck and God bless!

Could be Mono, I had this a few years back and literally slept for three months straight. the body is just trying to heal and the Doc couldn't do much. I suggest going to the doctor to find out for sure. They may have to do a few tests. But it is better to be safe then sorry because it could be anything. Your body is obviously fighting something. Listen to it!

Depression, African sleeping sickness, a chemical imbalance of some kind, CFS, some kind of vitamin deficiency, a lack of exercise to boost your energy levels and metabolism?? There's all kinds of things it could be.
You might want to ask a doctor.

Thyroid problems can cause one to feel the need to sleep more than normal. Go to the doctor and give him the description that you just gave us.
