Oh, you are so perceptive! Yes, I think it is THE KEY. For whatever reason, and rightly or wrongly, the Israelis are seen as the aggressors, and the USA is seen as the supporter of everything Israel does. We give Israel more foreign aid than we give to anyone else, and the Arabs conclude that we could force Israel to do what we really wanted--therefore, whatever Israel does, the USA must be backing it.The Arab/Muslim world would not focus its resentment on us to the extent it does if there were a genuine peace in Palestine; and if there were peace there would be a chance of prosperity and jobs, and the lives of the Palestinians would not be so desperate that suicide bombing would continue to be a worthwhile alternative. I think that 9/11 is the direct result of the continuing war in Palestine, and our penalty for our failure to differentiate the USA from everything Israel does.

The key to peace in the middle east is when those fighting realize that they are not going to achieve what they want through violence.
The Israeli and Palestinians have twice come very close to agreement.
When such understandings are reached terrorists have launched indiscriminate attacks against Israel to block any further progress.
These groups reject the right of Israel to exist. They are financed by the Governments who also reject Israels right to exist.
In 1948 all Arab States rejected Israels right to exist.
In 1979 Anwar Sadat the President of Egypt signed a peace treaty with Israel.
In 1981 he was assassinated by a group called Egyptian Islamic Jihad which opposed peace.
Members of that group were Omar Abdel-Rahman and Ayman al-Zawahiri, they organised the first and second Attacks on the Twin Towers in 1993 and 9/11 2001 respectively.
Ayman al-Zawahiri nominally the Al Qaeda, number two is the brains behind Osama bin Laden

In the 1990's most Arab and some Muslims recognised Israel's right to exist.
Most importantly Syria, Iran, Iraq, did not. They continued to finance terrorism blocking moves to peace.
Peace can only be achieved in Israel and Palestine when the Palestinian Government stops Palestinian terrorists. If they did so it would weaken the warmongers.
Peace in the middle-east can only happen when the Governments there are no longer interested in formenting violence outside their borders so they can justify their oppessive.
rule at home.
In 60 years 3/4 of the Governments have signed up for peace the last quarter looks like being the most difficult.

Yes, I believe so. But the real problem is it will not be easy to bring peace in the middle east that at all.
But if we somehow do it, then it will be the major shot in the arm to the peace in the middle east.
By settling the middle east situation, we not only stop the conflict btw Israel and arab nations, but also it will greately contribute to the number of the terrorists in elsewhere to be decreasing.

Ever heard the saying "history repeats itself". Remember Germany in WW2. Having to fight off two oncoming forces. Well in essence we, refering to the US, would be doing the exact same thing except we wouldn't have instigated it. Peace in the middle east is a lost cause but that is not to say that the lives lost in the sandbox were not all to naught. They fought and died for a cause that people have lost sight of. They will never be forgotten. We will remember.
Our biggest concern should be IRAN. They provide more terrorist funding than any other nation in the world. Every day i hear of possible weapons smuggling out of Iran to Iraq and Afghanistan. And the worst part is noone is there to stop it.

It would definitely help! But I think the big problems are fundamentalist Muslims who hate any religion or section of Muslim (Shiites/Sunnis) that isn't theirs. Heck if I know how to solve that though. So complicated. How can someone live their life so wound up like that?
People need better senses of humor.

The KEY would be to convince Palestine to want peace. Both sides have to want it for it to succeed.

Yes.
Unfortunate, the real price is to high.
Because what they really want is the dissolution of Israel.
Thank you very much, while you're up!

It cannot be done.
The Palestinians have been breeding hatred for too long. If Israel were not in the picture, they would continue to fight amongst themselves.
