the other way around?
Why can LIBERALS say and do what they want and tell us "NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHAT TO DO" - yet THEY tell Conservatives what to do ALL the time and expect US to listen.

This is a crazy DOUBLE STANDARD WORLD and I am getting tired of it.

We should ALL be polite, and we should ALL be able to say what WE WANT TO SAY!

Why can SOME people have free speech and not others.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

I get what you are saying, and it seems unfair, because it is unfair.

We live by a different standard of morality.

EDIT: The genaral has it right. We DO need to take back Hollywood.

I second Sunshine's answer.

When have you ever been prevented from saying what you want? When have you ever been prevented from worshipping as you wish? When have you ever been prevented from criticizing blacks, non-Christians and liberals?

You can say whatever you want. And people can disagree with you, and tell you that they disagree with you, and point out the flaws in your arguments.

Being polite and everyone being able to say what they want to say is two different things. We have the right to say whatever we want to say. We do not have the right to not be insulted. Thus, people will insult you and call you names. This happens on both sides of the aisle, we've all been on the recieving end, and most of us have probably dished it out every now and again in moments of weekness. That is impolite, but it does not violate anyone's civil rights.

You can speak up about anything you want.

Worldwide, individuals are jailed (and probably worse) for exercising free speech. This is what a violation of civil rights *really* looks like:

You have free speech, ok? Don't let any neo-lib or neo-con tell you otherwise. But ANYONE can criticize you back. If someone telling you that you can't say something, then that's their right to say it. But if you LISTEN to them, then you're the fool.

I really enjoy, however, how you generalize that ALL liberals do or say the same thing. For someone who's claiming we should all be polite you need to learn that while their are complete IDIOTS on the liberal side, there's some really great people too. Just like many liberals need to learn that about the Conservatives. So if you're going to judge people then you yourselve should be judged. Stop generalizing all liberals and making them sound like the enemy. We're all Americans here. We all want basically the same things (America succeeding, people being happy, etc...), it's just the road we take is different.

You are right and I don't think Blacks or some non Christians care what we say as long as it is not derogatory to them as people. The problem is that your politicians or movie stars say something and then the press jumps all over them for being this way or that and then we start to think well I shouldn't say this or that and behold we are into the situation that exists today.

I guess you haven't noticed that many racist whites plant questions in YA every day of the week. They speak quite freely, stupidly, but freely. Also, I see questions from the Religious Right lined up here every day right next to questions from those who oppose religion in government. And conservatives fill this forum with pointed ignorant questions about liberals, just as the other side does. So what exactly are you complaining about? The Religious Right has been trying to tell us all what to do for years now. Yes, they weren't successful, thankfully, but that doesn't mean they weren't free to try - and try they did. You can still find them on political shows yammering about morals and the denigration of America. That's not free speech? Is it only free speech if they get their way in the end? I'm sorry, but people are going to disagree and I haven't seen any lack of it from racist whites, conservatives, or the Religious Right. As far as civility, I try very hard to maintain it. But, when I am confronted by people who wish to legislate their religion into all of our lives, for example, I feel anything but civil. Not their place, not in this country.

the main reason is the whites have sit on their collective arses and kept quite and every one thinks it is okay with them, our Jewish ran gov, wants to weaken the white man and make him submissive ," they have" we have allowed other races to have such as b,e,t, and other satanic programs influence our kids and insult the white race and then say it is only a joke, they worship other athletes entertainers etc, while condemning their own , suppressing white achievements, etc, they will make fun of our religion and say how stupid it is , while accepting other religions that is foreign and usually satanic, because no one will stand up and say enough is enough and our religion is the best, and then we wonder why our youth are not productive and honest? what do we expect when we seem not to care nor have any pride in who we are what we are or how many achievements we have made, after all who has the best world America and the West, or the third world idiots who can't even feed their people?so don't you think it is time for the white man to stand up and be counted?
and say to the hell with political correctness or being polite.

Actually, I'm a liberal and I agree with you. Racism and other forms of discrimination are ALWAYS bad, no matter who's guilty of it. And it really irritates me when minorities are guilty of this and no one dares say anything. However, I have to say that I don't try to tell others how to live their lives. I try to "live and let live" as long as I don't think that anyone or anything is being in any way harmed. The reason why a lot of liberals get angry with Christian conservatives is because they often try to push for legislation that would involve imposing their own values and beliefs on others. This is especially true when it comes to legislation regarding abortion and the separation of church and state.

Seems you're not having any problem expressing yourself. Nobody's kicking in your door and dragging you off in the middle of the night. So, what is the purpose of your whining other than to exhibit an astounding lack of emotional maturity?

Liberals only protect those who vote for them. White Christians usually do not vote liberal, so the liberals think its ok to insult us and call us racist, to keep us from saying anything out of fear. The liberals are practicing hatred, double standards and reverse racism, and soon they will be exposed. If not, I fear for our great country. They are truly crafty, and have deceived people into believing their racism is nothing more than "tolerance". A sick world it is, it is

According to one poster here, she says that liberals are wrong for wanting equality for all...I guess if that is 'unfair' then I am unfair as well...how abou tyou do what you want, and let others do what they want? As soon as your rights infringe upon mine, they are no longer your rights. Is that fair? Also, you may want to be inclusive in your speak, and not so divsive. It makes you look like part of the problem.

It always seems that one's own group is the one getting picked on.

If I were asking this question I'd add Jews to the white/black, Christian/non Christian list. It seems to me that few political questions can be asked about Israel or its policies without being accused of anti-semitism.
