Computer is booting from a non-bootable source.
Computer hard disk drive is not properly setup in BIOS.
Corrupt NTLDR and/or NTDETECT.COM file.
Misconfiguration with the boot.ini file.
Attempting to upgrade from a Windows 95, 98, or ME computer that is using FAT32.
New hard disk drive being added.
Corrupt boot sector / master boot record.
Seriously corrupted version of Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
Loose or Faulty IDE/EIDE hard disk drive cable.

NTDLR is a system file needed for windows to boot up.
Technically, NTDLR is missing. Maybe it was caused by the previous boot up session or affected by a malware.
Anyway,

to fix it:
u should boot up with windows xp cd

go to repair windows then go recovery console from cd rom
now u'r in dos mode:
if u'r cd rom drive is d: and u'r hard disk is c:

just type this:
******************************
c:\copy d:\i386\ntldr c:\
c:\copy d:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\

******************************
after copy is done...remove cd and reboot computer
u'r pc will restart and everything should work fine

now if u don't have win xp pro..go to a friend who has it installed on his computer
try to find the file ntldr on their drive c:
it always exixts under i386 but don't know exactly where...unhide all files and look for it
then put on a floppy disk..go to recover console
and copy from a:\ the ntldr file

u should aslo add:
c:\copy d:\i386\ntdetect.com
becuz it's associated with the boot problem

use the WinXP cd try to reinstall the OS but when the process gets to the point where the setup asks you to install a new OS or to repair, use the repair option.
Otherwise try using F8 and boot the most recent "stuff" that worked.

I used to see this message. It mean One of your window files was deleted or disappeared by any mistake.
The best way to solve is resetup your Window.
