Penny's big brother is trying to get a share of her big box of birthday chocolates. "Put some in my pockets," he said. "ONe in the first pocket, two in the second, four in the third, and so on - doubling the number for each pocket."

"I have 4 pockets in my jeans and 3 in my jacket."

How many chocolates was he expecting Penny to give him?

Actually, the answer is 127! Others have given you the number in the 7th pocket, but you have to add up the sweets in all 7 pockets. Need proof? It MUST be an odd number because you have just one sweet in the first pocket and all the other pockets contain an even number.

JJ is right, it's 127. 64 is the last number of chocolates in the 7th pocket...not the total.
