Sometimes after intercourse I have a little spotting, sometimes a lot. Its fresh blood and it goes away right away. It normally only occurs when my period is about a week or so away....Ive also heard it could be because the penis is too big....? And the sex me and my husband have is not rough. So Im not sure why this happens...HELP

You might have a growth on your cervix that needs to be removed and depending on your sexual postions your husband is only hitting it some od the time. I had bleeding after sex a couple times and found out I had a enlarged veesel on my cervix which they removed with a biopsy (only hurt a little) and now I'm fine.

You'd have to ask your doctor, but... I sometimes have the same issue. In my case it's because I had surgery for cervical cysts and part of my cervix is now gone, leaving the remainder exposed and more open to irritation. It's a problem many women who have had moderate or severe dysplasia can also have. If you only experience it a week or so before your period, it might be just breakthrough bleeding.
Unless you are experiencing pain during sex, I doubt it's because the penis is too big.
Those are my best guesses...check with your gyno, though

It happens simply because there is more blood in your uterus than usual. If it doens't happen all the time, you shouldn't worry about it. It also has something to do with the roughness of your sex. If you are comfortable with it, then don't change it and deal with the spotting, just use a liner. If you are concerned about the bleeding, don't have such rough sex right around your period. Otherwise, keep doing what you're doing.

bleeding during sex can be caused by an infection, cervical cancer, or a weak cervix. You can only tell which one by getting a pap smear.
