Yes, they supported it, just as the majority of Republicans did. They supported it because they made the mistake of trusting the Bush Administration when it presented extremely bad intel. I find it interesting that some Republicans like to point fingers at the Democrats for being trusting enough to take the Bush Administration at its word. They won't make that mistake again. I also find it interesting that when the whole nuclear/WMD schtick didn't work out the main reason for invasion turned into freeing those poor Iraqi people from the clutches of evil. Nothing like spin is there?

Um I don't think that's interesting. Because Bush came to the Congress with faulty information (Whether Bush knew it was faulty I won't discuss). So in that line of thinking then the democrats COULD blame Bush for misleading them to start a war. Besides, even if you disagree with that then you MUST know that sometimes people change views on the war and just because a few democrats voted for it doesn't speak for the ENTIRE Iraq war!

They aren't blaming the Republicans for the war, if you payed more attention to politics you would know that a lot of the Democrats thought going into Iraq was the right desicion, the only thing they criticize Bush about it the way he handled the war

What I don't understand is why non-Americans (there's at least one who's answered) keep butting in their own opinions, trying to blame us as a whole.
This is a U.S. issue, and I believe Americans are the only ones who should argue over whether or not Bush is at fault.
That said, stating the facts (add your own left- or right-wing biases): All of those agencies are under the authority of the President, and the funding of Congress (thus they are all responsible)

I'm a republican... Voted for Bush both times. I would guess a lot of it has to do with the actual prosecution of the war, as opposed to the original justification for it.
There are plenty of people in both parties that were duped by faulty intelligence into believing Iraq had WMD. The blame is equal for both parties.
What galls me though, is the spectacular incompetence the administration has shown in the post-war reconstruction effort. Disbanding the iraqi army was colossally ignorant. Not putting a stop to the looting was really dumb. Not going in with enough troops to keep law and order after the hostilities ceased was stupid as hell. Abu Grahb was mind-numbingly stupid.
All in all, the post-war administration of this conflict deserves a grade of "F minus." You can thank Rummie and Bush for this mess. I agreed with their decision to replace Saddam, but I didn't sign up for this unbelievable show of incompetence.

It's not just Democrats. Conservatives (real Conservatives) were against it right from the beginning. As for the majority of those who supported it and now realize they were wrong, they made the mistake of believing Bush and the Republicans. And now that the damage is done, do you and your ilk hang your heads in well deserved shame for having mislead them? No! You put them down for having been foolish enough to believe you. Amazing!

Why does Bush always get the blame isnt the government split into different branches so that no single person has all the power, Bush did not single handedly make us go he simply led the way.

What's interesting is the fact you are damning the democrats either way. One can only presume you are saying the democrats wouldn't leave our President alone, they kept demanding we go to war in Iraq, and he finally gave in to the idea. How about taking responsibility for poor decision making, instead of bashing the dem's for buckling under the political pressure from the republicans.

the democrats and the United Nations and all the other countries approved because Bush told everyone they had weapons and that their oil would pay for us going in there. so let us not jump on every one else because of the fact they trusted your beloved President not to lie to the world. and before anyone gets upset, remember Bush has already admitted he was a liar(or wrong as he puts it)due to bad intelligence.
