It is very sad. Mississippi is supposedly the poorest state in the nation and I'm sure the effects from Katrina didn't help any.
Hey! Here's an idea - why don't we send money to people having problems in our own country 1st?!

Not surprised, just another example of how kids are lost in the system. Seems as though the parents need to step up and do their jobs and try harder to keep their kids in school and not assume that the government and other child advocacy groups are stepping up to do it for them as everyone seems to think.

It makes me wonder where all of that casino money is going? I am from Alabama and thousands of people go up there every day to gamble. Casino's (except for the native american) are illegal and we have no lottery, therefore, people from here go to Georgia and Florida for lottery tickets.
