When each of you come forward and show us proof that you were ever enslaved.

scooter,

It's called a legally binging contract or a "treaty". Quit whining that you have to pay a few dollars to (half-azzed) honor your side of the bargain.

Trust me, any money that's spent by the federal government in health benefits for Natives or any money lost due to Natives not paying taxes (only when they are on their own reservations, btw) is MORE then made up by all the money that the US government generates through the millions of people that are now living on land that was taken through the power of cheats, lies, and violence from the Native American.

Hell, the interest on all the money that the US government owes various tribes (yet illegally refuses to pay up) alone is probably more then enough to cover any "free" health care Natives get.

Really, I missed the years that you were a slave and had so many opportunities taken away. Could you tell us exactly when that was? I actually think you owe me and my family reparation. We lost our plantation homes in Virginia and Kentucky due to the Civil War. We lost large amounts of land and income due to military over zealousness on your part. My inheritance was greatly diminished due to the need for you to have "freedom" and "equal opportunity" that you have never taken advantage of or learned to use. I lost relatives to death on both sides of the Civil War. I lost connections with relatives due to the hatred generated by the Civil War. I lost cultural and historical continuity due to the Civil War. You gained freedom, education, opportunity. What you have done with that since the war and civil rights era is your responsibility, not mine. I lost much more than you did. When are you going to start paying back what you took from my ancestors and therefore from me? I can trace my ancestry back with actual documents. What can you prove? If you want to start a reparation battle, go ahead. I am sick of your whining and crying for hand outs. Get up. Get an education. Get a job and get over it.

Where you a slave? No, then you didnt endure anything. Also, if we pay black people reparations, we must pay white people. My ancestors lost alot of money when the slaves were freed, they didnt get their money back.

Also, everytime you use the term African American, you're making 2 assumptions about the person. 1, that their an american, because black people cant live in any country they want and 2, that they are from africa, because black people cant come from the carribean, never mind that, black people only come from africa. Also, White people live in africa, you would never call a white person an african american

In some ways I agree that slavery led to a bad state of mind and lack of opportunities for African Americans. It also led the way for current European Americans (Caucasians) to have it easier. However, there must be other ways out of this situation than government mandated resititution. Look at all the current great examples of African Americans achieving great things. Even many who have come from poverty. Think of Oprah, etc. Its possible to increase your opportunities and change your state of mind right now, today, without monetary reparations. All people can use their minds and vision to create the future they desire, wherever they came from.

That's like asking when African-Americans are going to pay me because my ancestors fought and died in the Civil War with the specific objective (stated in their diaries) of freeing the slaves.

OK, Al, I sympathize. Now get over it and prove that you are better than that. You don't need white or rich people to give you your potential and opportunity. Look for it and take it.

They're not sitting around thinking about what they can do for you anyway. You're the only one who should care enough about you to do that. improve your state of mind and become an example of strength, compassion and progress.

Yeah, and how about the so called African Americans actually start doing something to help Africa. There still is a continent there, you know? And it's full of people having a far harder life than you can imagine. Plus of course American is busy (along with the rest of the West) shafting them even further.

Why should we get payed for some of those things when we are doing them to ourselves? The best lesson is to learn from it so you dont make the same mistakes but you are going too far.

The 12th of NEVER. You first have to prove you are the descendant of a slave. Just because your black doesn't mean you came to this country through the back door. IF you can do that you have a scant chance. But with all that is out there for us. Take good advantage of it while it's still around. Scholarships and so forth. They trying to take that away from us too.
