I recently asked a question "should I drop out of college", people say no dont. But if I stayed in as of right now with my life, I would most indefinatley get a D average in all of my classes.

I am going to take a semester off, move back in with my parents and gather my life back together.

BUT in the long run, is having a D average degree in say associates better than just dropping out overall??

Is a D better than a 0?
While it's not good to get all D's, going to college is more than grades. It shows a willingness/desire to learn, the ability to stick to something and finish the course...etc. These are all traits that will get you through life, and that will impress future companies that hire you.
At this time you should analyze why you are getting all D's. Are your chosen courses something you're not really interested in? If they're the basic/required courses, face it, you must take those. Keep in mind that all other things you study will hinge on those basic foundations of learning.
Perhaps you could take one or two less basic requirements and add an elective course that interests you. Talk to a counselor before you decide to put your tail between your legs and go back to the safety of your parents' home.
Knowledge is power. Stay the course. *******>

you're able to have a three.0 GPA to stay with to any UC. bear in mind, universities in Cali have become very aggressive to the incoming scholars. Take summer season training as recommended from the different reader and artwork in protecting your GPA extreme and take part in extra effective curricular events and do volunteer artwork. This seems very solid in any college application. they are searching for college childrens who're alright rounded. solid luck `

Never quit. Go back to your folks find yourself again. Then go back and focus on your studies. Getting a D is better than falling out. When you have that diploma and you go for your interview, you are selling yourself to your employer not your big fat D. Your reseme is what gets you the interview in the first place. You could come last in your class, your employer doesn't have to know that. What is important to him is that you have a college diploma or degree. And that you are capable of doing the work.

OK listen up bud..
You are paying to be there. if you think that getting D's is better then dropping out I disagree. you are wasting the time of the teachers and using space that could be used by some one who really wants to be there. if you cant bother trying then quit and stop wasting money and the time of the teacher..
And by the way a D is like close to like failing. and you wont get any where unless you bring up the grades. No one want a D average anything..Get a grip smarten up and study be a somebody...

I would take a semester or two off and then make sure you go back. STUDY... Transfer then you will start with a fresh slate and won't carry over any extra baggage. Before I had my daughter I worked in univer. administration I knew a few professors and admins who transferred when they were in undergrad because of their low grades...

Yes it is. In college you have the choice of retaking a class and having that D replaced. When you drop out, it looks worse on your records that your a quitter than someone who may have failed but tried again.

employers only ask if you have a degree and from where. they don't inquire what your GPA was unless you say you graduated *** laude or something like that. So in essence a D is the same as a B (a passing grade).

most colleges today will turn you loose if your GPA drops below 2.5. And since D's are below a 2, the college will make the decision for you.

to some people it is because that's better than dropping out because most people don't even make it to college and right now you have a chance to make it and your trying to drop out so just try to do better and if you cant just accept it for what it is
