Benidorm is absolutely fab all the time. Well ok height of the summer it's a bit over crowded with tourist. Christmas is a relatively new concept in Spain. Most spanish celebrate 3 kings on 6th January. Christmas is really an English influence. OK I confess, I've never actually been here Christmas day. Live in Benidorm but I holiday in Great Yarmouth (mum lives there) so I go there for Christmas. But the weather is still pretty good. February is when it gets really cold. If you're a staying in kind of person, well it doesn't really matter were you are at christmas, it's who your with that counts. But if you are a going out kind of person, then Benidorm is a tremendous place to be. And as for new year! Well why go anywhere else.

Curious question, but one I can fortunately answer. There is no snow, but rarely much in the way of sun either. You can expect a bit of rain. Temp about 15-18 c. Benidorm is an all year round resort and the Christmas period from say 22 Dec to Jan 3 is very busy. Entertainment is centred on the Brit area at the back of Levante Beach, which as you are facing the sea is on the left hand side of the Avienda Mediterraneo. The entertainment is mainly solo singers, comics and the odd duo. Plenty of discos and the food a booze is very cheap.
To the right of the Avienda Mediterraneo you have Poniente Beach. This is the older part of Benidorm, which is the older tourist area that leads into Old Benidorm town. The live entertainment is not as good, but the atmosphere and the food are much better. Cafe Klee is an interesting drag cafe/club, and there are plenty of pleasant small bars. The tapas bars in old Benidorm are brilliant.
Don't forget to take a day out to Villajoyoisa, which is about 10 clicks down the coast to the south. The tapas bars are even better than Benidorm, and well worth a look is the cafe in the port which is next to the fish auction house. They get the pick of the crop and an afternoon with Rioja wine and plate after plate of fish and salad might cost you 30$.
Sunday in Benidorm is the day to go to the junk market at El Cisne, which is about 1 km out of town. Then you listen to the jazz band and go next door to the bar, which is a converted church. The canas, the mussels, the carafes of wine, frito all come in abundance to make a wonderful mix that is a fun break in Spain.
Should you go there ? This depends....if you want to have fun, eat well and drink well, you could do a hell of a lot worse.

BENIDORM Weather THE HEAT IS ON
Costa Blanca’s (Benidorm) weather you will find does not go below 19C in the winter. So it is worth considering this coastal
part of Spain for your Christmas celebrations
Winters here are mild, so why not welcome in the New Year with firework displays that are guaranteed to take your breath away. Amazing strobe effect flashes of colour that light up the skies, followed by bangs and explosions that can be heard all over Benidorm. The Tropics? forget it. The Costa Blanca is glorious, where else can you sun bathe and get a sun tan before Christmas dinner.
Costa Blanca’s, sunshine is what makes this one of the great holiday destinations in the Mediterranean for singles couples and families. Benidorm is protected from the winds by the mountains Sierra Helada to the east, Aitana to the north and Tossal de la Cala to the west.
Six hours of sunshine a day can be enjoyed in winter. Expect around twelve hours of sun per day in summer accompanied along with humidity.
The best part of Benidorms winter is how you dress; where in the UK can you wear open toe sandals and shorts etc at this time of the year.
Do you like it really hot? Well the peak season for you, and for the holiday maker who prefers the climate a little cooler but with blue skies and sunshine then Benidorm is definitely your winter destination
Expect to find at this time of year that most tourists are of pension age. The older generation dominate the Benidorm scene at Christmas time their stays can last up to two or three months at a time. As they say it is cheaper than staying at home, but most of all the weather is the main reason behind choosing
Benidorm as their second home.
My advice is, make sure all travel insurance is valid. I found ocean finance very helpful with all my queries on insurance for many different things in general.

Bloody awful. Well don't know if you have ever been there but one year we went to Spain around Christmas and was just warm enough in the sun to feel quite pleasant but still a little chilly. Anyway we took a trek into Benidorm and I was really not impressed with the place at all. Its all tower blocks dirty smelly everything that i wouldn't have expected from an otherwise beautiful country. Yeah it was that bad. I'm glad that we were staying in a villa some miles into the hills from Benidorm that place was pretty nice. Oh yeah i remember it was boxing day when we went to Benidorm and everything was shut.

Christmas is great in Benidorm. There are loads of bars and resturants, a must-see is Benidorm palace It is just fab!!.
Spanish celebrate their Christmas in January and they celebrate the three wise men. Even if it is shut on Boxing day(which I very VERY much doubt) you can always spend a nice relaxing time in your hotel working of the hangover!! Seriously it is a lovely place. There are a good selection of entertainment going on. On one side of Benidorm it is really tradtitional Spanish where there are hardly ANY Foriegners that is always quite quiet but normally the club side of Benidorm is heaving. It will most likely be warm throughout Christmas and chilly at nights but thats the norm for most places. The nightlife is just .... WOW!!!

Hell on earth. Why would you want to go there of all places? I don't know why people go to foreign countries at Christmas when it's a time for family and friends to be together.
