Feed them twice a day, as much as they will eat in 2 or 3 minutes. That probably means a couple pinches of food, at 2-3 inches long.
Just FYI, Bala sharks are huge fish and need 125gallon+ tanks as adults :) Just so ya know, in case you didn't already.

The Bala shark is one of the easiest fish to maintain it is also one of the most peaceful that minds its own business at all times. The Tank should be large with live plants and also lots of swimming areas, the Bala is a very active fish which will cover all areas of the tank and will go over the substrate picking up pieces of food that were missed by others. It has no specific feeding requirements and will accept all flake food as well as supplemental live. They do best in a water temperature of between 73° to 79°. pH slightly Alkaline to neutral. The only drawback to this great fish is that it grows too large for most home aquariums. The Bala shark is also a skilled jumper so a tight fitting cover is needed.
I hope this can help you a bit friend.

Your Bala will eat almost anything you feed it. Its natural diet consists of phytoplankton, rotifers, insects, insect larvae and tiny crustaceans and it will appreciate live foods. The Bala shark is an omnivorous species and will eat meaty foods as well as algae and vegetables. It is a scavenger and will carefully look for any left over food from earlier feedings in the aquarium. The Bala shark will also help keeping algae growth under control. Here's what I've fed mine: Formula 2 (frozen flat pack spirulina based food) Freeze dried and frozen blood worms thawed frozen kernel corn that's been chopped well Seaweed salad or unflavored sushi nori clipped to the tank side chopped water pack canned clams (rinse well) They'll eat just about anything. Moderation, of course, is key. Note 1: Here's just a few veggies they'll eat: Frozen (no salt/preservatives) Thaw before feeding and chop well: Corn, green beans, lima beans, peas, potatos Fresh: Boil water and dip in these leaves before feeding: Kale, Chard, Spinach, Beet tops, Turnip tops, mustard greens. To feed, you can use a veggie clip available. Good Luck

I have about 42 fish in my 55 gallon tank, mainly 18 small neons and such... fish like tetras, but I feed my fish 2 times a day. I have 3 angels, 1 bala, 5 large Danios, Glo-fish and mollys, and they all thrive very well being fed twice a day.
