i have had 2 the first one was not by choice i was in enduced labor for 181/2 hrs and it was awful.. because they were hard and two min apart from the start so after that amount of time you can imagine anyway i had an epidural and i didnt get numb enough so i had to be put to sleep i hated that too but i was only really sore for a day by day 2 i could move around and by the time i went home on day 4 i was ok just tender... my second child i decided to have another c section because i was getting my tubes tied also so he did them both at the same time this time my epidural worked great i watched my son be born and was up and about in a few days i did over due it though with him it was xmas time and i split my stiches open but it was ok..... im not sure how many staples i had but not many and my scare is small...its not that bad really i have talked to some friends who had natural and there is more pain afterwards with a c section but its not something you cant deal with.... not trying to put anyone down here but amosunknown i dont know who told you you cant lift your baby or the car seat ect but thats bull. you are limited on what you can lift and that is usually what the dr will tell you dont lift anything heavier then your baby in the car seat....

I went through about 3-4 hours of labor pains with my daughter, but only because I was waiting for the doctor to get to the hospital. I had a c section with her because she was breech and trying to turn her could tear the placenta off the wall of uterus and cause massive bleeding and delivering a vaginal breech can be dangerous and cause cerebral palsy, etc because the head is the last thing to deliver so the baby's neck is on the line. I am currently pregnant now and have chosen (choice was mine) to have a repeat c section with this one. I chose this to avoid any possibility of complications (uterine rupture), even though the stakes aren't THAT high...they are there. I was up walking around the day after my c section and didn't actually have stitches, but staples which are waay better because they don't leave the "frankenstein" scar look with the little dots where the stitches were in place....my doctor took the staples out the next day (24 hr later). As far as labor pains and all that comes after birth, c section or vaginal, every woman goes through the same things. Nothing alters that part of a delivery. I would have preferred to have vaginal deliveries for both of mine, of course, but am thankful for c sections because it FOR SURE prevented complications of something that could have been disastrous and saved me and my babys life.

My baby was overdue. For the last three weeks or so, I was part of a study at the hospital. Half the women had labour induced and the other half, of which I was part, waited it out. I was about thirteen days overdue and had a test which indicated low fluid, so was put in hospital for induction Friday a.m. No response. No contractions evident.
I lay around from Friday until Sunday with them trying all sorts of things to move things along. Every time I felt discomfort, I changed my position and the discomfort stopped. Finally, I was getting so tired that I didn't think I would feel strong enough (at 39) to have the energy for a vag birth. At the same time, bored, I was watching the fetal heart rate which was dropping. I pointed this out and we all agreed it was time for a C-section.
Finally, she was born just before midnight on Sunday and was perfect. They used staples, I don't know how many....and morphine! I didn't know that they were going to zonk me out, so I missed some time with my baby in the first day. It wasn't painful even after the morphine was stopped.
The day we were to leave hospital, I was upset with my partner who refused to photocopy the hospital records for me. So I got out of my hospital bed and walked to the nearest mall to photocopy the apgar scores. The C-section was no problem. My tip..get an appropriate exercise regimen in place to get the muscles back to normal.
I do feel that I missed some of the birth experience. An operation is a very clinical way to give birth and lacked the euphoria attached to a successful labour and birth.
The flu I caught in hospital was the worst I ever had.

I had to have one after being in labor for 14 hours and not dialating past a 1. I got infected at the incision and had to spend 8 nights in the hospital on IV antibiotics. It was extremely painful and it took months to heal and years to feel like it wasn't a big deal anymore. I would NOT recommend it unless you have to do it. Also, there is usually a bit of a "shelf" where the tummy muscles lay over the incision and no amount of ab exercises completely eliminate it.

My first child was delivered by emergency c-section and, through the Grace of God, is very healthy. My second, I chose the c-section to protect him from possibly the same situation. The chosen c-section, my labor felt like gas pains. Once it was determined I was in labor, we just went ahead with the delivery. I forgot any pain as soon as I saw my babies. The only comparison I ever made with natural delivery mothers post-delivery was the sex was better for me because I had nothing disturbed in the vaginal area.

C-sections are more dangerous, and of the small percentage of women in the US who die during child birth, most are from comlications due to c-section, not natural birth.
Its much easier to get an infection, or have something knicked or ruined during the procedure.
Healing takes much MUCH loger and its MUCH more painful. Its much easier to ruin your muscles for life, since for the first 2-4 weeks you cant even life the baby in the carseat carrier.
Most natrual births, even ones invovling stitches, you're up and active within 24 hours, and in a week you're completely functional, although still bleeding and sore. With c-section even riding in the car home from the hospital is enough to bring tears to your eyes.
You cant even wear normal clothes for quite a while, since the incision is sore and you dont want anything touching it... even nursing your baby hurts because holding it puts pressure on the stiches and causes pain.
Ive known a few women who had to have c-sections, they were planned and not emergency. All of them have never been the same, and wish to God they could just go back and deliver regularly, but v-bacs arent common, and theyre very much more dangerous, and most hospitals wont allow them. They all regret it, and talk about how horrible and painful it was.

I had vaginal births with my first 3 childrens, then had no selection and for scientific motives I had to have c-sections with my final 4 toddlers. I easily can not understand why everyone could elect a c-section in the event that they did not could desire to have one! i found the restoration grew to become into plenty extra good and extra painful then I did with the vaginal deliveries. ( of direction I could desire to be asking myself why I persisted to have toddlers after the 2d c-section using fact I knew i wouldn't in any respect have the capacity to grant vaginally back! ) I additionally discovered the restoration took longer! it extremely is a substantial operation and there are so plenty extra threat in contact for the two mom and toddler whilst having a c-section. i grew to become into fortunate sufficient to have 7 toddlers and have not any stretch marks, yet I do have this gruesome c-section scar! No quantity of nutrition E will do away with that:( And maigen_obx, i'm sorry yet you're incorrect in this. woman can now ascertain in the event that they elect to have a c-section or a vaginal transport, and that they've been in a position to for a mutually as. I had my final toddler in 2004 and my pal, who had not something medically incorrect along with her or her toddler desperate to have a c-section. They healthcare expert allowed her to make that selection. and then in basic terms as of a few months in the past, my superb-pal desperate to have a c-section extremely of having a vaginal transport. it particularly is totally easy for woman to obtain the alternative.

I've had 3 c sections, all of them emergency. My stomach muscles are messed up from them, and I now have an "apron" stomach because of it. Luckily all of my children are healthy and beautiful, but it sure has messed w/ my stomach muscles. I only had inner stitches and outer stapes, and recovery was long and painful. If I'd been able to give birth naturally, I would've jumped at it.
