Why can't we sneeze in our sleep?

I have never knowingly sneezed in my sleep, but my cat has. The end result is that it woke her up.

well we can but most often the sneeze will wake you up

you can experiment with tickling someoneÂ´s nostrils with a feather or sneezing powder/tobaco and you will see...

maybe fra IS unconscious at night, but i just sleep....

Because, we are unconscious in our sleep, not notincing if we have inhaled an "allergen"(what was it called?)
