I am 27 (28 in two weeks) my partner is 40. He already has 3 fully grown children (youngest age 17) - I have none.
We both want children but I had an abortion when I was 19yrs old due to personal reasons. I have no regrets of doing this I just feel like I've possibly damaged myself as I recently had a miscarriage and I don't want to risk loosing another baby.

What chances do I have of becoming pregnant?

Get yourself checked for your own peace of mind. I hope it works out. It doesn't mean the abortion has anything to do with you miscarrying !!

All the best !!

One miscarriage is nothing to go on, they are so common there arent many people I know including myself that havent had a miscarriage. Its only when you have 3 or 4 I think that they will investigate. Im sure you are fine and the abortion and miscarriage are not linked at all. good luck.

There are a lot of cases where certain types of abortions cause scar tissue to grow in the womb, or damage the cervix. its possible you were damaged, especially if you've felt different since.

Although there are a million reasons to miscarry.

Aparently you have every chance of becoming pregnant, since you have already twice.

I don't know whether ya monika means you smoke but if you do - kick the habit first - your fertility will improve and you will have less chance of having a miscarriage/undersized baby!

As for the abortion issue - the more you have the less chance you have of carrying a baby but if you've only had one you should be alright!

Miscarriages are very common. I know many women who have had one of more then gone on to have a family.
Keep trying. It may take a little longer because your partner is older. You are still a good age though.

Every chance. Your previous medical history as described in your question should not prove to be a problem. However, terminations performed by non-professionals under non sterile conditions can carry significant risks one of them being infertility. When you decide to try again try to put any immediate doubts and concerns out of your mind.
Best of luck !
