Well, there's always "The Lovely Bones." It isn't a true story, but the author bases part of the book on her own experiences. It is a really sad story, though.
There's also "The Pursuit of Happyness," which has been made into a movie, with Will Smith.
I would also recommend "Country Under My Skin," if you're looking for a challenge; it's an autobiography, of a revolutionist, in South America. It's written by Gioconda Belli.

Neither of these are true but they are both fantastic reads---
Everything is Illuminated. Fantastic, fantastic story. Made into a movie with Elijah Wood, but I suggest reading the book before seeing the movie, if you haven't done either yet.
Forrest Gump. This book is so much different from the movie, it's amazing. I found it when I was about your age, and it quickly made it's way to the top of my favourite books of all time.
Edit: someone mentioned "Into Thin Air", by Jon Krakauer. A great one by him is "Into the Wild". True story, quite interesting.

This is not a true story, but it is so good--you should try reading Eragon ,and Eldest by Christopher Paolini. He wrote the first book when he was only 15, and he is a freaking genius--he wote it to find a new direction in life afer he had graduated fron high school.

True stories? The best is history and biography. There are many valuable biographies out there: it completely depends on who you admire. There are also "fictionalized biographies," and the champion of that genre is Irving Stone. I consider his works more interesting than pure biography. some examples:
Clarence Darrow for the Defense
Jack London, Sailor on Horseback
The Agony and the Ecstasy (Michelangelo)
Passions of the Mind (Freud)
Lust for Life (van Gogh)
The Greek Treasure (Schliemann)

Biographies are great.
There's a book by Sam Kinnison's brother on his life. And a great book on Alfred Hitchcock by Donald Spoto called The Dark Side of Genius. A good read. --Effortless, if you like movies and psychology.
