Inexpensive basket--fill with homemeade treats--cookies, fudge, chocolate covered pretzels--all are $$ to buy but easy and not too $ to make--and because you won't be needing all of it for one basket you can have some extras for yourself or someone who would need a little surprize--like that neighbor who always waves hello or is alone. Maybe a mug with some cocoa mix (bought or homemade) or cidar or spiced tea mix. You can make these and fill an empty jar and glue festive paper on the jar. Some sweet bread--the mini loaves are great!! Banana bread, poppyseed bread, lemon bread.... and use the pretty plastic wrap or foil and tie on a small bow. You can have a great basket with a little time. Be sure and smile sweetly at the cheesy plastic ornament you will get--not everyone is as clever as you!

Go to the BUCK store and get a heavier but nice (not tacky looking) drinking style tumbler with a wider base and fill it with decent pens, pencils and a few candy canes

personal pocket planner/calendar, a gift certificate, cheese, cheese ball, wine - either the real thing or non-alcoholic, chocolate cherries, gloves, handkerchiefs, hankies, ten dollars in Sacajawea dollars.

$10 gift card or Krispe Kremes would work the best.
