Q: How to cut a triangular pyramid into two identical halves?
(base and all sides are equilaterial triangles)

A: Slice it diagonally, where one side is cut into a trapezoid and a triangle. The two parts end up looking like prism shapes (where the long sides are trapezoids and the ends are triangles) that are both exactly the same.

The reverse of this is to have the two halves, and to ask how to put these together to make a pyramid.
