I'm 13, and since my mom refuses to take me to the docter to get a X-Ray on my ankle that could indeed be broken, as I can't put any weight on it, nor can I stand on it, and if I move it in the wrong wat, it turns into pain... I fell on my skateboard... and my mom keeps saying, "Walk on it, you need to stop babying it" ," You don't need to go to the docter".. and all negative stuff like that..

and well, if I call a friend for a ride there.. can I use my mom's insurance? Or does she have to be there..??

Help guys please!!!

ok heres the problem...if your ankle is broken there is not much they will be able to do about it now. A broken bone cannot be casted after 6 hours. The swelling will be too much to accurately shape the cast and within the first 6 hours your broken bone starts to work on repairing itself....which means the bones would not heal together straight. But it sounds to me as tho it is a sprain, wrap it up in a tensor bandage elevate and yes baby it but work on rolling your ankle around, alternate between hot and cold compresses, and keep bugging your mom to take you to the Dr. if she still refuses, go see your school nurse, the school nurse has the proper authority to make sure you get seen to by a doctor.
Good Luck

I would think that she would have to be there for you to use her insurance unless it is a Dr that you go to regularly. How long ago did you hurt your ankle. Since she refuses to take you to the Dr.
try to stay off the ankle and put an ice bag on it, ( put some ice in a baggie and put it on it---or if you don't have a baggie wrap some ice in a wash cloth ) it could very well be just sprained. Good Luck

Unless you have a medical emergency it is against both State and Federal Law for a physician to see you without a parent or a legally appointed guardian. It sounds as if you need to be seen and I do not understand your mother's reluctance but no you may not be seen without an 'official' adult. Do you have a father? Aunt? Uncle? Grandmother or grandfather? Although it is a stretch of the law I would see you - other physician's must make their own choice in such matters - with a relative present. Good luck - and no - it does not sound wise to walk on it.

under 18 you must have an adult present (like guardian or parents) No you cannot use her insurance because you are under 18.

If it is broken, you should not be able to stand, they will have to put a cast and you will not skate board for like 10 weeks.

what you can do, and I know this sounds odd.. try to walk on it.. and once you cry from the pain, call an ambulance. they will come get you, bandage your ankle, Xray it, ect.. they will call your Mom, but they will most likely do all that first. Good luck x x x

ask your mom to take you its sounds broken, if she doesnt, tell your school nurse because you are a minor they would want her there.
