You worked all day for that line of attack, eh? Bet it even passes as intelligent in your trailer park.

It wouldnt be my personal choice, but i do think it is okay if all involved parties are 100% consenting ADULTS and entering into the marriage of their own free will.
Polygamy works for some people, it can give the people involved more 'me-time', they can share eachother's day-to-day burdens, it can mean they are less likely to get sick of the sight of their spouse, they probably know where their spouse is at night (ie, not out at a bar with some floosy) It probably creates a larger family base and a stronger sense of community and loyalty.
One downside is (depending on where the folks in question live), it can be difficult on the children of a polygamous family if they interact with 'normal' society on a frequent basis, they could potentially get picked-on and ridiculed by other kids because of their home-life.
Ofcourse legally, polygamy is not viewed as being okay in many countries.

It is fine as long as everyone is consenting. I don't see why there shouldn't be a roughly equal number of males & females though (polygamy refers only to many wives).

There was a woman on a talk show once and she explained several reasons she enjoyed growing up in a polygamous family. Although she knew who her birth mother was, there was always someone there to talk to. Either a sibling or a parent was there who would have time for her. It was a big family atmosphere.

A lot of people say "but someone would get jelous". That is becuase we have grown up in a society of obsessive ownership. If you didn't need that one person to belong to you, you wouldn't get jelous. & 'cheating' wouldn't be such a problem, there are plenty of people who have time for you, and it isn't condemned, so noone would be angry about it.

Polygamy is an option not a MUST.

There are many reasons behind it.

Biological Reason:

There are more number of females than males on an average in the world.

The life span of males is shorter than females by a considerable amount of 8-10 years.

The female body is less aggressive therefore is less susceptible to wear and tear of cells. This enables it to fight diseases better. Thus another reason of higher mortality in males.

Ecological reason:

Greater number of males die in wars, calamities, accidents than females. This decreases the ratio even further.

Phyioslogical and Sexual reason:

Man as male is more polygamous by nature. Females have lesser urge of desire compared to males.

Females have certain times, when they are in capable of having sex (periods), whereas males are all times ready!

INFERENCE:

When there are less males, a 1:1 marriage link up is still deficit for the remaining females. New York CIty itself has 300 females extra 700:1000.

What should the remaining females do? then there are numerous numbers of gays in the US, this still decreases the count. What should the remaining females do???

The only safe option is to share a husband and get legal and social rights.

This is the Islamic concept.

I know it's illegal but personally I don't think it's wrong. If it's between adults and all parties are aware and agree to it then I don't see what the problem is. I wouldn't want two or more husbands. One is enough to handle. On the other hand if there was another wife she could help out with cooking and cleaning and if I'm not in the mood she can do the sex stuff. Hmm, this may not be such a bad thing after all.

It doesnt bother me. Even if I did find it immoral, it's not my place to say my version of morality is better or more true than someone else's morality. As long as everyone is consenting, I see no issue.

However, a polygamy marriage is more likely to suffer hardships, jealousy, and divorce. Everyone involved should realize this, but it's still their choice to make.

I think the Bible says something about a man having as many wives as he could afford to keep. But how does one judge that? One woman could be kept in finery, the other to be her slave. In that time period, death came early, many women died in childbirth, so to keep up the population, it was thought that the richest man was the smartest man and should spread his seed as much as possible. Nowadays, is this really necessary? Look what is happening in China when they tried to limit childbirth, which I must agree was necessary to some point...but now they have many males who cannot find a mate because families were allowed only one child so they thought to abort female children in favor of males to "carry on the family name". Hard to do that if you can't marry and reproduce....and some are finding females to closely related in the gene pool, just to grab a mate. There needs to be a mixing in the gene pool to keep the human race strong, so let it be one man/one woman and keep the future generations going as an eclectic mix of genes.

Legally I dont think you can do it. But if the people involved all willingly want to participate in that kinda thing I say go for it. Yet, in my opinion i dont think it'll work out because a sort of Hierarchy will manifest and Jealousy and envy can arise from the show of favoritism

As long as it's between consenting adults, and there is nothing but honesty involved with all parties, I don't see why not. It wouldn't be something I could do, but that's just me.

It is ok with me so long as EVERYbody is fully consenting (which, generally, they're not!)
The above being said, its illegal. So its not ok with the courts.
