Theoretically the bottom at the back - Heat rises which means the cold will be at the bottom - and it would be heated when the door opens - so the back at the bottom makes sense.

THE BOTTOM OF YOUR FRIDGE. MOST FRIDGES HAVE THE CRISPER COMPARTMENT AT THE BOTTOM WITH AN UJUSTMENT TO MAKE IT COOLER.THE REASON IT IS COOLER ON THE BOTTOM IS BECAUSE HEAT RISES. THAT IS WHY THERE ARE FANS IN FRIDGES NEAR THE TOP OF THEM TO CIRCULATE THE WARMER AIR INTO COOL AIR AROUND YOUR FRIDGE.
