Plain and simple: Win.

And keep Pennington healthy. That fall during yesterday's game nearly gave me a panic attack. He's lucky he didn't really hurt himself or I think the Jets would be done.

They need to run the table, and their schedule is deceptively tough. Green Bay can still manage a good game now and then, and being at home will be a great boon. Buffalo is on fire and AFC East rivals tend to play it closer than a razor's edge. Minnesota can get it done some of the time. You can see the Bills comment for the Carp, but perhaps even more of a pitfall because the 'Phish are at home. And Oakland....okay, that one's a gimme.

They're also going to need some help, either in the form of a Patriot collapse(sadly unlikely) or at least two collapses out west(Denver seems likely, but KC and San Diego have an edge.) They also need to watch out for the resurgent Bengals and possibly the Ravens in the wild card hunt.

In other words....their chances are pretty slim, and they are far from being masters of their own destiny...

I'm sorry, it's just not going to happen. There is a slim chance if they can beat out NE for the division title, but they are not going to get a wild card in the very strong AFC.

1. Keep Pennigton Healthy
2. Have to win at least 4 games of what they have left. Their schedule is winding down and they have that shot. They have to shoot for the wild card after New England's win last night.
