Animals also associate music with emotions. Even plants do. An experiment was performed in 1968 by Dorthy Retallack with Pandit Ravi Shankar's music with some plants and heavy metal rock music with other plants. The ones that listened to Ravi Shankar's Sitar Music grew better while those who listened to Rock music died early. Cowherds in India regularly play music/sing and there are several pics from ancient times till today to show animals mesmerized by music.

Because humans are the only ones who stand in line in pitch black dark of night in 25 degree windchills on "Black Friday" to await 5 AM store openings to spend millions of dollars on music and entertainment items so we can associate the music with our emotions. All the other animals go hide in the woods for fear we will trample them too when the store doors open!

Maybe they're not the only ones. Maybe dogs and cats and other animals associate music with emotions, but we can't ask them can we?

I doubt that ONLY humans make the association. I have a blue and gold macaw that clearly enjoys music...even tries to dance and sing-a-long sometimes.

Humans are the only animals who can express their feelings about music in words that other human beings can understand. How can you be sure that other animals don't express their enjoyment of music? Do you speak cat? Dog? Mongoose?

I would think that because music triggers a certain emotion. Just like certain smells will remind us of certain places. Businesses will use a certain aerosol, so that each time you smell that smell, cinnamon, lilac, etc., you will think about their business and go back there to shop.Good Luck!!!

because its coming from humans emotion , if a bird listens to another birds song , they would transfer a message which we don't understand , basically its because they don't feel and understand what we feel and realize!!
