Are there any groups or performers who've been around for a while and whose new stuff is generally considered to be better than their old stuff?

of course, but smart progressive music isn't really what ur gonna find in the pop chart. dig alittle deeper maybe. check out new muse, amy winehouse, john ledgend, india arie, jill scott(live) ben harper, both sides of the gun, willy mason, soad, any unheard jeff buckley recordings , the vines, jet. ect mainstream wise, christina agulara just hired some new writer, doesn't really count. Beyonce just wrote and co produced her latest album, people are taking her more seriously. prince? for interesting artists check out the interactive jukebox that peace not war are setting up.

i in my opinion choose Slipknot's greater present day stuff. Mastodon's recent offering i could say is their ultimate album (Leviathan substitute into surprising too, yet Crack the Skye takes them to a sparkling point). Lamb of God do in bits. device Head's recent 2 albums value up there with their first (their 3 in between albums have been no the place close to the point of the latest 2). Soulfly have their moments too (a number of their till now stuff substitute into particularly undemanding, and Omen wasn't the final offering). whether dark a while substitute right into a competent album with the aid of them. i think of Bleeding with the aid of proceed to develop. Deftones later albums have been super too, so lots greater complicated and imaginitive then their first albums (that have been surprising too). Cog and Karnivool (Aussie bands) have more desirable with each and each launch. dogs style Disco i presumed had greater advantageous greater present day stuff too.
