I hate it, I've been on it since mid June and I've been on my period every since mid July. I'm due to go back to the clinic on Wednesday and I think I'm going to go on the pill.

On the leaflet that comes with the injection, it says that after stopping the injection it can take a few months for your periods and fertility to go back to normal.

But... when people have heavy periods while on the injection, clinics can offer to give you the pill at the sane time to reduce/stop the bleeding.

So... if I go on the pill as soon as I come off the injection will my periods come back to normal soon?

Has anybody done this before?

How long did it take for you?

Thanks

I can't stick it out any longer, it's been 4 months already and another injection will take me another 12 weeks with a constant period. I can't do it. And there is no sign that they are getting lighter.

Plus my sex life has really suffered and my boyfriend is not happy at all.

I personally would try to stick it out a little longer with the Depo. After 6 months, my period stopped altogether and it was just nice knowing I didn't have to remember to take that damn pill everyday!!

I just went off the depo in the beginning of Nov. and tried the pill and hated it. I was on the shot for 3 yrs and never had a problems, every women's body is different and reacts differently to different hormones. I don't see why any doc would recommend taking 2 birth controls at once, that's way too many hormones.
