You ask a question that's been asked many times over, & how much progress has been made? Some would say, "much," some would say,"little," and still others would say, "none." We don't try hard enough, some of us don't try at all. There are bad in all races and cultures, but we are still people that should be able to live together. You can't learn to live together if you are not even willing to learn to get along.
I went to a private university post-grad work, in the early-mid 90's and can't tell you the number of students, mostly from elite East Coast neighborhoods who said the first experience they had "with black students was when I came here; I have never been around African Americans, Hispanics, or other races until I came here. All I knew is what we read in the papers or saw on tv..." Thats sad that we are still that segregated!
I sent my kids to public schools except the one accepted at a private military school, but it was very integrated. There were, and still are kids, their friends and my own acquaintances of multiple ethnic, cultural, socio-economic backgrounds around us all the time. My kids always watched the PBS series "Eyes on the Prize" when it came on every year. I wanted them to see the graphic videos to learn what civil rights years was really like-not just what they read in some textbook. There are those of all races and cultures who take advantage and cause harm to others. They hinder progress , but hopefully we will learn to live together...and really care more about each other.

Nope!............but we can learn...
to negotiate our differences,
to celebrate our differences,
to break bread.....and share a meal,
negotiate who cleans.......and who helps to clean,
negotiate how we can tell each other...what's in our heart,
learn to give each other ....space....and return when it's better,
learn to not give each other space...when we know that the other feels badly.....and needs to get it out....we let each other vent,
learn to.......love.....even from a distance.
Learn to love ourselves, and know that it carries into every part of our life,
Learn to try to control...our anger and especially our disappointment when others hurt us...intentionally.
Learn to love and respect the elderly...if GOD allows, we may be in their shoes someday!

Yes we will have to. Otherwise with the rising differences and tension and egoism, it will be the end of humanity.
