Probably the starting ones that have no connections. Still very young, doesn't have a savings, needs money and needs to break it in. They usually have no choice but to let themselves be used by the producers, directors, managers, ... etc.

without a doubt the infamous casting couch exists and i m sure there are many who use
it to,as they see, get to the top.
some actresses just marry directors and get many roles,two, in my opinion,**** actresses who have
starred in their husbands movies are helena bonham carter and kate winslet,both no longer with their
husbands....go figure.

I think lot of the not-so-talented ones probably do sleep with people along the way. It's hard to find concrete information on it though, since nobody would ever admit it.

No...that's a pretty stupid reason for choosing someone for a role. It's not a return on their investment dollar wise.
