She wants to further her fame in her rock band and go into acting.

Lita retired because she wanted to focus more on her band, much like what Jericho did. She also wants to be in plays, and she's gotten a role in a play.
Trish and Lita retiring has nothing to do with the T&A focus. Trish retired because she got married. While they were dating, he made some sacrifices so that she can continue to wrestle, and Trish thinks it about time she returned the favor.
I don't think Lita mind playing the **** because it was a great gimmick for her. Think of all the fan responses that she's gotten. Everywhere she goes, she gets called a whore, ho, ****, etc. Isn't that what a heel is supposed to do? Get fans all riled up?
She did a fantastic job doing that.

Dipperett - Lita retired to concentrate on her band The Luchagors. She hopes to make it big on the music scene and do a bit of acting as well.
Her knee injury she got last year never healed completely. that's why her matches never lasted long - last night's match v Mickie was only 15 mins long.Apparently she was offerred a new contract - it expires on 1st Dec but only as valet to Edge with some wrestling matches. She refused.
Also she's been getting lot of flak for her real-life relationship with Edge - both left their respective partners - Lita/Matt Hardy Edge/Val Venis' sister.This has not gone down well either in WWE or real-life. She got absolute dog's abuse at last night's S/Series from the audience. So why would she come back?
Apparently the door has been left open for her to return anytime - as is Trish - but somehow i doubt it. Hope this helps!

She wants to do more music with her band the 'Luchagores' and she wants to go into acting. She basically said she wants to take up oppertunities and have some more experience in life instead of regretting not doing them in the future. She said she might come back in the future but she's not sure yet, she wants to do some different things.
She was also getting a lot of heat from the public when out of character. She mentioned just walking her dog at home and people would shout 'whore' and 'cheater' out of cars and windows to her and it really got to her.
I hope she enjoys the new things she tries because at the end of the day she was a great wrestler and she gave her all the business for the fans.

Along with her band, i think this might have had something to do with it.
the wwe as whole as decided that they want to move away from traditional matches when it comes to divas and concentrate more on T&A and gimmic matches, this is why i suppect trish and lita have both left in recent weeks. i have read on a number of rummor sites that wwe are on the look out of a number of model type divas, i think at the end of the day she was fed up with playing the s l u t.

Lita left because she didn't like the current storyline and she wanted to leave to concentrate on her band Luchagors and she's going to be in a movie.

She left last night coz she is in a band called The Luchagors which she wants to concentrate on - and she is also going to do some local theatre work in Atlanta where she lives.

Because her contract was coming to an end plus she wanted to focus on her band she is in and being with WWE and her band involves alot of touring so it would be hectic. Plus the fans didn't like her persona with Edge so it is best to leave it then.

I agree with Cat...Even though Professionally Amy Dumas is a great person, but outside of the professionalism..She dung **** every thing that walks...I have nothing personally against her, it's just she **** Matt Hardy on the first date.......and she**** Adam Copeland to get no where...Imagine how many men she played...
He Bo-bo...Amy's ex...if your still around..how many men did she do when she was with you...

I think she just wanted to go and try out some other feds, as WWE tend to try and portray her as a slag, she's taking bookings now for Indy leagues...
I wont be surprised if she turns up on TNA...
