I'm not completely sure on BKS..........but only because a stock STI is already faster than a stock EVO. Although yours is the english version so I forgot what I read on the FQ360 as compared to the US EVO IX.

He is right on everything else. Both the EVO and STI are great cars, can't go wrong with either one of them. I still say it's much harder to mod a STI to handle like an EVO though.

Congrats on your purchase! And yes, it's much more worth it than a WRX..........not an STI though.

The Mitsi is more hard core than the Subaru, however with a 15k budget, you could get a scooby pushing out a lot more than 360bhp, however Mitsubishi are also giving you a warrenty for that kind of power. Personally I think that 360 is a lot to push out of a 2 litre engine and expect reliabiltiy, hence the price. Parts are dearer than for scoobies, as well as servicing prices and closer servicing intervals. There are however far fewer Mitsubishis on the road, so a little more exclusive.
I have had subarus for the last 6 years, and only just sold my STI type uk last week for a 5 litre mustang. At the end of the day if you want power, you need a big engine, so 11 second 1/4 miles will be mine ina few weeks, when its supercharged!! Ooo the Power!!

I love my STI and my cousin has an EVO IX. I mean they're both great cars, but for some reason i just feel more "manly" in my sti. And it doesn't take much to match or beat a stock evo or even a 360. A little suspension tuning with sways, some coil-overs, a UTEC, and a turboback, and you got yourself quite a car. Thats what i have on my car btw and i can get faster times at autox.

hell yeah. More power, more pedigree, less chav more style (ok i use the term style loosly) I mean the evos have been progressive in their styling, subaru dont have a clue and just lurch from one design to another. Also chances are it will be the last "real" evo. Evo X is likely to be quite different, probably a softer german saloon chaser. I'm pretty jealous. I'm busy lusting after a 2nd hand Civic type-r, the 360 will just monster it! Oh well - one day.

Hell man...your car trounces a WRX every day of the week (unless the WRX is heavily modded).

Is it worth 15k? That answer is up to you to make...obviously you said yes and you're hoping for us to help you make sense of it.

If you had the money to comfortably purchase the FQ 360 and you're happy with it...then it was worth every penny.

Good luck with the Evo and let me tell you that I am EXREMELY JEALOUS!!!

Sti, there is no replacement for displacement. At a specific output of 150hp/l the Evo is putting down 300, whereas if you went that far with the Sti you would be making 375. The 2.0l is to comply with WRC rules.

Evo 9, not so common, not that the Scooby is but you see a lot more of them around. The Evo still turns heads.

both cars are about the same but the 2007 STI is limited edition so cost more but neither car is that fast until u get some upgrades. STI is supposably more reliable after tuning. but then ive seen a evo ix wit 330 whp on mustang dyno running on stock turbo. only thing changed was catback ehaust and ecu tune. in my opinion i like sti better but i would be happy with either car

Neither one is significantly better than the other. They are rivals for a reason: they are very similar in almost everything, including performance.
It boils down to your personal choice, and a fatter wallet!
If you were to do a poll test between the two, don't be surprised to see the votes cast as 50-50.
