What do you think of happy trigger finger cops,do they seem to be same everywhere.

It takes an aggressive type of personality to want to become a policeman, and yes I believe some of them are much too trigger happy. Just recently in my town (Portland, OR) an 18 year old boy who was drunk and acting crazy outside his mother's home was killed by the police. He was holding a small household paring knife, and the police tried to disarm him by shooting him with a taser, and then with beanbag pellets. This didn't stop him but he tried to get away from the police by heading back into his home. The police then opened fire and killed him. His mother was the one who called the police because of his behavior and she ended up watching his tragic death. Granted the police are there to protect us, and their job was to protect the people inside the home, but it seems the boy could've been stopped another way. He was one guy with a paring knife against 4 or 5 policemen. Did they have to kill him?

After all the dust settles and the nominees selected, McCain is going to have an uphill battle convincing America of his wisdom of staying in Iraq for the next hundred years. I just can't see another republican winning with the country in the mess it's in, sorry.

They lack the mental acuity and physical aplomb to handle situations they are put in. --Part poor training, part 'hey, they're only human.' But that's why the fire away and tase away and spray away like little chicken s**t girls all the time. They are a disgrace to the uniform and the public they serve. The force needs to hire people who can come out from behind the heavy weaponry and defend themselves in a pinch.

Give them a gun and they will use it, as evidenced by that shooting of the brazilian guy in london.
I suppose that the police force has a special appeal to the kind of wakner who wants to shoot guns and hit people with sticks, just as the career of parking attendant attracts miserable hate-filled b*st*rds.
