How can I get rid of chipmunks in my attic?

I want to trap them, not kill them...what kind of food can I put in the trap? they are keeping my kids up all night

The universal rodent attractant is peanut butter. Good luck!

In my experience I CANNOT get a chipmunk to go into a Have-a-Heart trap. Will not go. I've used peanut butter, sun flower seeds, corn bread mix, ear corn, nothing works for me. Peanut butter is the universal bait, and works for everything else. Not chipmunks. I'm going to try mothballs.

Try putting in some acorns or peanuts or some fancier nuts. Give them a little choice.
