100 000 net?
Well, Budapest is a bit cheaper than Western European cities, but not very cheaper. You're lucky that the apartment is free, that would cost at least 70 000 Ft...
Depending on the technology, another major cost can be the gas bill during winter (10-25 000 Ft).
And then you probably use telephone too, and water, electricity, food... Well, 100 000 is not luxurious. It is said to be the average salary here. I'm afraid you can't afford going out too often.
There's a little chart to help:

100K HUFs and you will survive OK. It depends very much on your intended lifestyle. There are bars here where you can get a beer for 150 HUFs/half a litre and others where you'll pay 1000+. If you're into the high life, 100K is not enough. If you want to try living like a Hungarian and experiencing the real Budapest, you'll get by just fine.
FWIW, I had a curry last night here with a friend. 2 Pilsener Urquells, popadums, 2 main courses and rice came to 8,200, inc. tip. You can also find restaurants that do lunchtime menus for silly prices. One round the corner from where I work has a 590 HUF menu for 2 courses - about 1.50 Pounds. Decent hungarian wine can be had for 300 HUFs from shops. 1000 HUFs will get you a top-rate bottle.
Basic staples in the shops are very cheap, so cooking for yourself will really help. Make sure you stock up on Marmite before travelling :-)
If your apartment is centrally located, you can get away without a BKV travel pass (about 7000). Sneaking a ride on the buses & trams is easy, but not risk free. Fare-dodging on the underground is more risky. Bring a bike if you can.
Anyway, you will get by if you are adaptable and you're not expecting to live like a king/queen. Go for it!

I was there two years ago and found going out to eat a local places (ie not American Tourist Traps) to be quite reasonable.
There is a great pedistrian district that is a fun place to waste time cheaply, as are the galleries and park at heros square (which has ice skating in winter).
There is a huge market in a yellow building where food and clothing can be bought a reasonable prices from tons of little vendors. It is north of the pedistrian district and west of the light rail track that runs the river. Sorry I cant remember the name. Seems like it used to be a government building.
Anyway if you dont spend heftily on basic living expenses you should be able to ejoy many weekend excurions by rail.
