A lonely child
A field of blue
The tears that flow
The heart that bleeds

But no one cares
Now I write
The hidden truth
State of humanity

Does one care
Or need to care
No we don’t
That’s what most say

But that’s not true
And I write
To open eyes
And show the truth

hey! My parents didn't abuse me, kay? Maybe I'm dark for some other reason, but stay away from my parents!

It is a dark poem, but definitely has a ring of truth to it.

The difficulty is the end. There is hope at the end but no explanation of why that hope exists. The poem says that people say they do not care, but that is a lie. It does not say why it is a lie. It does not mention that under that tough exterior that society sometimes expects most people have a heart.

Take care,
Troy

I don’t know where poetry comes from, but I do know that in every person exists a hint of darkness, a spark of light, and all shades in between. I don’t see this as being a completely dark poem about loss and loneliness. I like that the poet sees that, though she feels alone at that moment, and that she hurts to the point of tears at that moment, the world is not all cruel and vindictive. People care about each other, and people even need to care for on another.

I like this poem: it shows the pain and loneliness that we all feel at times, and gives hope to move past the pain.
