Study Skills are vital - studying at university level is a skill in itself - as a teacher I find it heart breaking to have to fail a piece of work because the student hasn't referenced properly or hasn't answered the question they were asked.

It matters very much. It affects study time, concentration, and how much information is retained. There really should be a class for this required for freshman year. It's more important than you realize. It may be worth your time on picking up a book on training your memory as well as a study skills guide.

well in university nobody runs after you like in school. more over there are no text books. there are reference books which actually decides ur future as a student. how u manage ur study material makes you a successful student. study skills help u manage ur time and study material. study skill is not a single skill. it constitutes many skills like reading, memorising, etc.
So do pay attention.
