If it starts singing at 2 o'clock in the morning and tells you it loves you, then collapses in a heap then it's been drinking.

Fish, well... They drink 24 hours a day. If the water in the tank went down it would only mean the water is evaporating. Fish filter water through there gills like our lungs filter air, we cannot breath in water they cannot breath in air. So they drink 24 hours a day 7 times a week. ^^

turnaround has it exactly backwards, freshwater fish do not drink water because they absorb it through their body and gills all of the time. They are constantly urinating in the tank to rid themselves of it and this is where the ammonia comes from that eventually kills your fish unless you do weekly 25-30% water changes.
Saltwater fish are constantly drinking to offset the reaction of the salt that causes them to lose the water through their waste and respiration.

Observing water level in the aquarium or in any other thing, If u have an aquarium in Ur house then u vll know that fishes vll drink or not OK babe bye.

When they begin to stagger about and tell stupid rambling jokes that have no point, then they start blubbing and saying they are your best mate. Then they can lick any fish in the tank with one fin behind it's back- then they crash out and sleep for hours. That's how you tell.

There'll be beer glasses all over the bottom of the tank. It gets the hiccups and goes all cross eyed when it tries to focus.

fresh water fish drink water as it passes thru the gills for oxygen salt water fish dont drink water they obsorb it thru the skin

I don't think they drink, i think they just eat. But if their drinking worsons, take the alchohal away from the aquarium.LOL
